Karen Eipel is an artist and designer who has lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico and New York City.

She studied Fine Art, Textile Design, Design Concepts, and Apparel Design at Parsons School of Design New York City, S.U.N.Y. Purchase, New York, Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science, and F.I.T. New York.

While living in New York, she operated Karen Eipel Hand Painted Clothing, creating one-of-a-kind fabrics and garment designs.

Karen was also a print model, Assistant Director of Woven’s for Women’s Wear, and a designer’s model for Bali, Warners, and Lilyette lingere manufacturers, eventually becoming the spokeswoman for Triumph/Lilyette of New York.

Looking out her studio window at blue sky, rolling hills, and pinon trees it’s easy to see why Karen Eipel opted to move to Santa Fe, a city teeming with creativity and artistic professionals. She is constantly inspired by her surroundings, whether it be country or city.

Continually striving to learn and grow, Karen attended classes at the Santa Fe Community College as well as taking private lessons in fine art and apparel design. On any given day, there is no telling what you will find on her cutting table, dressform, or easel, but one thing is certain.....it will be uniquely Karen Eipel.
