BIOGRAPHY
Originally from Vancouver Canada, Alison taught drama, improvisation and media literacy to elementary school students. When not in class she could be found on set working on both sides of the camera during the early 80’s for Stephen J. Cannel Productions.

Mid 80’s, she joined forces with a fellow writer and formed an improvisational workout group that eventually evolved into a sketch group called ‘T.B.A.’. They used material originally written for CBC Radio. T.B.A. performed at a variety of locations around Greater Vancouver.

Her love affair with technology dates back to high school when she worked for Radio Shack. 10 years later, Alison volunteered at a local cable studio and advanced through the ranks from ENG assistant to Live-on-Air Host & Producer. Upon her arrival at the television studio, she knew she had found her calling. Friends jokingly referred to Alison as the “Jodie Foster of Cable.” Alison wrote, produced, directed, shot and edited her own pieces. Her specialty became controversial educational and training videos.

Credits include; Award winning documentaries Earthquake Zone and Heart Smart; music videos, Idiot Savant, Petrol Fish; Commercials, Memoflex, Lexicon, and Infomercials (Nikkon). Alison can capably operate all types of video cameras, hang lights, 'ring-out' audio, switch, edit and interview live on air. She studied acting and television technique at Gastown Actors Studio in Vancouver and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena.

She co-created, wrote, produced, starred in and finally edited a sitcom pilot that aired on national television in Canada. ‘Ales & Lager’ was a tremendous learning experience that prompted her to want to learn more about feature film production.

Alison moved to LA in 1996 and her first adventure was as a location manager for an AFI project, a short film directed by John Dorsett. She thought it would be a good way to find her way around LA. She did well and ended up becoming the 1st AD too.

Her work has focused on Video production as of late, primarily in the industrial and corporate arena. (Seminars, Conferences and Awards Banquets) Alison shoots ENG, studio, steady cam and handheld live-to-screens (IMAG – image magnification) covering educational, multimedia, music, news, sporting, and theatrical events. She has also been developing several projects related to Internet/TV and digital web entertainment.

Her most recent Los Angeles film credits include; Production Supervisor “That Summer in LA” a feature length independent film, and Producer for “F-Stops” which recently won the Remy Award for best suspense thriller in Houston at Worldfest 2001. She is currently working on marketing and obtaining distribution for “F-Stops” while developing and writing features and television projects. Alison hopes to shoot a film in the UK this year and is working with a development team to make that dream a reality.
Alison holds a Corporate Membership at Life Elite, and has affiliations at several film and video organizations.
